We finished the last week of 3rd quarter with a BANG! We were busy last week as all of our classmates on sports teams had a match, meet or game and Emma and Cooper participated in our amazing school musical, Oklahoma. Wonderful job to all. We realized that everyone in our class is involved in a sport or activity after school and began praying for balance and joy.
Monday is Service Project Day. Thank you, Mindy McDonald, for leading this for our class and to Bill and Meghan Grubbs and James Cook for driving.
A reminder that we are collecting children’s books tomorrow for church-wide collection. Please bring books tomorrow and put in yellow bag. I will bring some as well and then turn into the church tomorrow afternoon.
Language Arts:
- We will finish the final chapters of The Hobbit and begin our outlines for the persuasive essays on Thursday. We will use the techniques in Shurley English text book for the essays in case you have any questions about the process. Much of the work for the essay will be done in class and I look forward to conferencing with the students. The essay is due on Tuesday, March 26.
History:
- We will continue Chapter 21 through the 1960s. Please encourage your child to look over and review notes on Tuesday and Thursday nights. I will continue to stress this in class. We are planning a test the week of the 25th.
Math:
- We will be studying Lessons 90 – 92 as well as take a test on Wednesday over Lessons 1-85. Students are invited to come for the Thursday help session😊
Science:
- We will continue our study of weather (Chapter 19). The weather vocabulary sheet that we have been working on in class will be due on Wednesday. Also, students should be checking weather.com each day to record weather data for their chosen city. The goal is to get data for 10 straight days. The data collection sheet will also be attached to this email.
