Martin Luther King Civil Rights Museum, Memorial and Birthplace
Your kiddos did well this week! We began cumulative reviews and enjoyed a great day of studying Presidential and Civil Rights history right here in our own city of Atlanta as we visited Carter Center and Martin Luther King museum, birthplace and Ebenezer Baptist Church.
Congrats to Caroline for representing us in the finals of the Geography Bee on Thursday. Congrats to Cooper who will represent our language arts class in the finals of the spelling bee on Tuesday next week.
Language Arts:
- We will be starting Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream in class this week. Come see our production on the morning of May 13…more details to come. We will also mini grammar lessons each day. A grammar test over Chapter 7 will be given on Thursday.
History:
- We will review the presidencies of Reagan, Bush, and Clinton over this next week.
Math:
- This week we will be working on Lessons 109-111 and there are no regular tests. We will be holding our Math Contest on Monday. Students will get as many of the 30 questions correct as possible. Questions are taken from what we have learned throughout the year.
Science:
- Students will be given some time in class to work on their research for the PNN Space Exploration project so they will need to bring research information with them to class. No tests or quizzes this week. We will also continue our study of “Life in Space”. The science cumulative review will be on Thursday. Students do not need to prepare for the review. They will be given a chance to share what they have learned this year.
