Welcome to 6th grade at PCS for 2019-20!

Dear  Awesome 6th graders,

I hope your summer has been full of FAMILY and FUN and that you are excited about taking the BIG step to the “other side” in MIDDLE SCHOOL.

I can’t wait to meet you though several of you I have known for many years.  I began praying for you by name yesterday and will continue throughout the school year.  We can add our homeroom pic to the top of this blog the first week of school.

I will be your homeroom teacher this year! You will be in my classroom first thing each morning for homeroom and BIBLE.  Later during the day, you will come to me for language arts.  I LOVE READING!  We read many wonderful novels during 6th grade that will become some of you favorites.  Our 6th grade teachers include Mrs. Ericson, who teaches BRIDGE;  Miss Tejeda, our newest team member, will be your math teacher; Mr. Hudson will be your earth science teacher and Mr. DeMaris, your  history teacher.  Olivia’s parents, are our room parents.  They are the warm, wonderful and fun (and have already had a daughter go through middle school at Perimeter).

Email or have your parents text me if you have any questions about summer reading!

Please enjoy the rest of your summer and don’t worry one bit about the new things that await you in middle school.  During the first few days of school, I will walk you step-by-step — through your schedule, setting up your larger locker, organizing your books and binders, signing up for clubs and sports and even finding a place to sit at lunch.  I am a big believer in explaining things clearly, considering the way each of my students learn, challenging you to THINK, practicing concepts many times, asking questions, lots of laughter, taking care of one another and talking to Jesus often.  We are going to have a fabulous year!

I will see you at our Meet and Greet on Friday, August 9th – 11 a.m. -12 noon.

No pressure at all, but if any of you are available to help me for an hour or so on Wednesday, August 7 around 11:00 a.m. I would love to buy you a yummy drink at the Atrium as a thank you.  Just text me to let me know.   My classroom is on the lower hallway on middle school side.

Please know that I began praying for you by name today and will continue throughout the year.

You are precious!  We are grateful for the way you were created. God has already made the WAY for us for this year!

With great excitement and JOY as we anticipate the upcoming year,

Mrs. Lee
