Our 6th grade is very rich right now with WWII, The Hiding Place, and the study of Geology – carbon dating, rocks, and how they relate to historical events in the Bible.

The Signup Genius for January conferences will follow this soon.

In addition, we have a few special events coming up at Perimeter School.  I am forwarding you two messages from Jana Mock and one from Karen Henderson.

Per Jana Mock:

Pathways Parent Informational Meeting on Monday, January 14 at 6:30 in the Fellowship Hall. Pathways 2 Life Ministries provides our intimacy and drug and alcohol awareness training to our middle school students. Ken Griffin will cover the material that will be presented to students during the 2nd semester classes. All middle school parents are invited to attend. There will be a time for q & a.

Right to Life:

Before 10:00 all the 6th grade will be joining together to read, Dr. Seuss’ Horton Hears a Who, and watching Louie Giglio’s Fearfully and Wonderfully Made.  We really hope all students join us for the morning and the trip to the capital and the short march through Atlanta.  This is a great learning and awareness opportunity and of course an opportunity to stand up for those that can’t speak for themselves.  We will also be discussing the legalizing of abortion in history class later this year.  Mrs. Mock has also said there will probably be some type of assignment for students that do not attend the march since it is a school event.

Family Friendly Event  The Georgia March For Life and Memorial Service is a family-friendly event permitted by the City of Atlanta who will provide security at the Memorial Service and March. Children are welcome, although it should be kept in mind that the event is outside and in the streets of Atlanta (while closed to traffic). For safety, young children must be in strollers or under close supervision.

Rain Or Shine Event

The Georgia March For Life is a rain or shine event, unless the authorities shut down the city due to adverse weather conditions. Otherwise, there will be no cancellation of the event due to inclement weather.
